Every THIRD cycle, not every cycle. Must cover the Texas Nursing Practice Act, board rules including 217.11, Standards of Nursing Practice, board position statements, nursing ethics and professional boundaries. National certification cannot satisfy it.

The 20 hours must be in the current area of practice and is a minimum, not a cap. First renewal after examination or endorsement is exempt. No grace period. The three practice-setting topics are the one confirmed gap in this table.
